Cubs (2-3 years)
A calm, open space designed for early exploration and growing independence.
Our Cubs room is thoughtfully arranged to give younger preschool children the freedom to explore in a calm, open and inviting environment. Every area is carefully planned to support the seven areas of learning, with a wide variety of materials that encourage curiosity, communication and early independence.
Resources are regularly refreshed to reflect the Cubs’ interests, developmental needs and individual next steps. This ensures the environment stays stimulating, engaging and responsive to the children who use it.
In the Cubs room, children enjoy:
- Sensory‑rich play
- Early mark‑making in every area
- Books and stories linked to each learning zone
- Opportunities to build early maths and language skills
- Calm spaces for emotional regulation
- Open‑ended resources that encourage imagination and problem‑solving
- The layout supports gentle transitions, early social skills and the confidence to explore at their own pace
Big Bears (3-4 years)
A purposeful, open environment that prepares children for school through rich, meaningful play.
Our Bears room offers a calm, open and well‑organised space where older preschool children can engage in deeper learning, longer play sequences and more complex challenges. Each area of the room is linked to the seven areas of learning, with resources chosen to extend thinking, build independence and support school readiness.
Materials are regularly updated to match the Bears’ interests, abilities and detailed planning. This keeps learning fresh, exciting and developmentally appropriate.
The environment is designed to help children practise the skills they need for school — from name recognition and early phonics foundations to turn‑taking, emotional regulation and self‑care routines.
