We believe children learn best through real experiences, not worksheets or screens.
Every child at Stepping Stones enjoys a rich programme of outings and hands‑on learning, including:
Library Visits – Developing a further love of Storytime and reading, exploring community links and a library card initiative where the children obtain certificates when reaching so many genres read.
Community Walks – We explore local parks, the Abbey weekly, shops to buy fruit and vegetables, post offices to donate our charity donations, nature trails and much more!
Cooking and food exploration – Children regularly take part in cooking sessions such as Fruit salad creation, Sandwich making, Baking, Exploring herbs, spices, and ingredients, Learning about healthy eating and Building maths, independence, language and confidence
Cultural Celebrations – Children learn about diversity, traditions, and belonging. A celebration missing or you want focused on? Let us know! We would be delighted to help celebrate special events at nursery too in addition to the variety we celebrate
Forest School sessions – We explore Nature exploration, Den building, Bug hunting, Seasonal changes and Outdoor risk‑taking
